The CIHR-IMHA Inclusive Research Excellence prizes are designed to recognize exemplary completed research projects under the broad IMHA mandate areas in six cross-cutting research domains. The specific objective of this funding opportunity is to recognize exemplary work and build capacity in the six cross-cutting research domains of a healthy research ecosystem in keeping with both the CIHR Strategic Plan 2021-31 and the CIHR-IMHA Strategic Plan 2021-26. Prizes will be awarded for completed research projects in the following domains:
- Indigenous Health Research Prizes
- Open Science Prizes
- Research Impact Prizes
- Team Science Prizes
- Patient Engagement Prizes
- Implementation Science Prizes
Funds Available:
The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $900,000 enough to fund approximately thirty-six (36) grants in form of prizes in FY 2023-24. The prizes have a value of $25,000. The funding provided through this FO is a one-time, non-renewable prize. This amount may increase if additional funding partners participate.
Of this $ 900,000,
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Indigenous Health Research
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Open Science
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Research Impact
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Team Science
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Patient Engagement
- $ 150,000 is available to fund up to six (6) prizes in the domain of Implementation Science
