I was inspired by Jesse’s Journey mission 25 years ago and it’s my sincere pleasure to have joined this team as Executive Director in 2018.
Founded to raise and grant funds to Duchenne research, Jesse’s Journey has grown into Canada’s largest Duchenne-focused charity and has now granted almost $13M to research projects around the world. Today we also focus our work in the areas of advocacy, education & engagement.
Being from London, Ontario I watched as Jesse’s Journey was born in 1995 and captured the hearts of many as the story evolved. As a former media person turned fundraiser 23 years ago I have always worked in the areas of children’s health working with and leading philanthropic organizations across Canada, the US and parts of Europe raising hundreds of millions of dollars for children’s charities, healthcare foundations and community organizations. Joining Jesse’s Journey as Executive Director is an opportunity I couldn’t ignore given my passion for the cause through a personal relationship with John Davidson, Founder, and his family. I have seen first-hand the devastation caused by Duchenne. I am driven to expand our role to ensure we are meeting the needs of families while also arming researchers with more money to advance work toward treatments and a cure.
