The CIHR Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (CIHR-IMHA) is now accepting applications for its Planning and Dissemination Grants, Winter 2026. These grants provide support for planning and dissemination activities that align with CIHR-IMHA’s mandate to enhance active living, mobility, and musculoskeletal health.
This opportunity focuses on six key priority areas:
- Indigenous Health Research: Supporting Indigenous-led research and participation within Indigenous communities.
- Patient Engagement: Understanding patient research priorities and incorporating patient-oriented research principles.
- Digital Health: Advancing research in digital health technologies such as smart devices, wearables, remote monitoring, virtual appointments, and clinical applications of AI and machine learning.
- Open Science: Promoting open science principles in planning and dissemination activities.
- Pain: Advancing research in pain.
- General CIHR-IMHA Mandate: Ethical, impactful research addressing bones, joints, muscles, connective tissue, skin, teeth, and overall mobility.

Specific Requirements
- Recurring events (e.g., annual conferences, meetings) are not eligible.
- Grants must be held in Canada, though events or activities can take place inside or outside Canada.
- Applications must explicitly demonstrate alignment with The IMHA mandate and The chosen priority area in the activity description and relevance form.
