Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America

The MGFA has launched a Government Funding Initiative to support high-quality research in myasthenia gravis (MG). This program aims to keep promising MG research moving forward during a period of limited government funding.

Eligibility

  • Applications must have been submitted within the past 12 months to NIH or a similar agency abroad.

  • Proposals must have been reviewed and scored in the top 25% (or equivalent).

  • Submissions must remain in their original peer-reviewed form.

  • For-profit entities cannot apply but may collaborate as self-funded partners.

  • Career development and fellowship applications are not eligible.

Funding

  • Awards: $100,000–$500,000 per year for up to three years.

  • Indirect costs must not exceed 10%.

  • Funding begins January 15, 2026.

Key Dates

  • Virtual Q&A: September 8–9, 2025

  • Submission period: September 2 – October 10, 2025

  • Finalists notified: November 14, 2025

  • Virtual review meetings: November 19–21 & 24–25, 2025

  • Recipients announced: December 19, 2025
