Doctoral Scholarship – MuSkLE Graduate Programme: 2026 Call for Excellence Doctoral Scholarship

The Lyon1 University is very proud to announce scholarships in support of excellent students who wish to complete their PhD in France, in an interdisciplinary doctoral program dedicated to the musculoskeletal system. Scholarships are supported by the Graduate initiative MuSkLE within the Graduate+ framework. The Doctoral scholarship is allocated for 3 years from June 2026 to May 2029 for a motivated applicant eager to work on an interdisciplinary doctoral program dedicated to the musculoskeletal system. The focus is on muscle comorbidities in rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorders. Learn more about the project and supervisors below:

  • Location: INMG/PGNM – NeuroMyoGene Institute (INMG) Laboratory of Physiopathology and Genetics of Neuron and Muscle (PGNM) at the
    University of Lyon – Claude Bernard University Lyon 1

Eligibility criteria for the PhD project:

  • Being a foreign/international students (dual citizenship accepted)
  • Having obtained a Master’s degree in a field related to the Graduate initiative before the beginning of the PhD scholarship

Supporting Documents:

  • A letter of recommendation of the potential thesis supervisor validating the PhD candidate
  • Curriculum Vitae (2 pages max)
  • Transcripts of records from Bachelor and Master degree
  • If applicable, abstracts of the candidate’s previous work (g. dissertation, internship reports, scientific articles…)
  • Motivation letter
  • Letter of recommendation written by professors or supervisors
  • Certificate of English level (TOEFL, IELTS, ECRL, TOIC)
  • Copy of an official identity document or passport
