The NMD4C Community of Practice for physiotherapists and occupational therapists is pleased to invite you to a knowledge exchange session on wheelchair skills testing and training! Physiotherapists and occupational therapists often work with clients with diverse needs and are eager to learn from experts and colleagues about effective strategies. This Knowledge Exchange Session provides a great opportunity to discuss challenges and successes, while connecting with peers across the country to strengthen our community and support each other.

This Knowledge Exchange Session will be led by Niamh Cushen, PT, and Patricia Mortenson, OT, from BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. This session is titled: Supporting children and youth with NMD through the F-Words: From the cradle to the adult world The session will include a 25-minute presentation followed by a 20-minute discussion.

Learning Objectives

1. Refamiliarize ourselves with ICF / F-Words in Childhood Disability
2. Explore ideas for grounding ‘Friends’ and ‘Future’ into our practice
3. Share and learn how others are supporting children, youth and families
