NMD4C Investigator Dr. Bernard Brais is featured as a Canadian expert in The Economist Business Intelligence Unit’s recent report Navigating Rare Neurological Diseases: Meeting the Challenge for Policy Makers, Patients and Healthcare Professionals.
The report aims to distill and illuminate the policy challenges that rare diseases face, focusing particularly on rare neurological diseases (RNDs). Using data and consultation from North American and European experts, the report explores methods to address the policy challenges identified.
Dr. Brais provides perspective and expertise on the Canadian landscape of rare neurological disease, highlighting among other topics the access to diagnosis and treatment for patients, and the role of non-profit advocacy and support groups in providing resources and patient support.
