Overview

The NMD4C Neuromuscular Talent Pool is an online database highlighting neuromuscular trainees and research professionals across Canada who are seeking neuromuscular research employment opportunities. It provides a centralized space for individuals to share their background, experience, and career interests, supporting visibility, discovery, and connection within the Canadian neuromuscular research community.

Objective

The Talent Pool supports individuals at the next stage of their research careers and helps laboratories and institutions more easily identify potential candidates.

Eligibility

The Neuromuscular Talent Pool is open to NMD4C members based in Canada who are seeking opportunities in basic neuromuscular research, including: 

  • MSc and PhD students 
  • Postdoctoral fellows 
  • Research technicians 
  • Other neuromuscular research professionals 

Individuals at different career stages are welcome, provided their interests align with neuromuscular research.

What is required to register?

To be included in the Neuromuscular Talent Pool, individuals must complete the online registration form and submit: 

  • A current curriculum vitae 
  • A brief personal statement outlining research background, interests, and the type of opportunity being sought 

All submitted information should be accurate and up to date.

Duration of listing

Once approved, profiles will be showcased in the Neuromuscular Talent Pool for three months from the date of posting. 
After this period, individuals who wish to remain listed may re-register with updated materials or contact our Network Manager, Erin Beattie for future posting periods.

Benefits of participating

By registering for the Neuromuscular Talent Pool, participants gain: 

  • Increased visibility within the Canadian neuromuscular research community 
  • Exposure to laboratories and institutions seeking neuromuscular research talent 
  • An additional pathway for being discovered beyond formal job postings 

The Talent Pool complements existing job search activities but does not replace formal application processes.

The Talent Pool is intended to be used as a viewing and discovery resource by laboratories, institutions, and research teams.  NMD4C does not match candidates to positions, facilitate hiring, or guarantee contact, interviews, or employment outcomes.  NMD4C does not verify credentials, references, or eligibility to work. Responsibility for the accuracy of submitted information rests with the individual. NMD4C retains full discretion over whether to include any applicants into the database.

By registering, individuals consent to their submitted materials being shared and viewed by third parties for recruitment and career related purposes during the three-month posting period.

Laboratories and institutions are encouraged to use the Neuromuscular Talent Pool as a resource for identifying potential candidates.  NMD4C also welcomes job postings for promotion through its website and social media channels.
