Summary:

The fellowship program offers:

  • 1:1 teaching sessions with 7 full-time and 3 part-time
    neuromuscular disease (NMD) specialists
  • General NMD and EMG clinics, as well as subspecialty clinics
    (genetic neuromuscular clinic, myotonic dystrophy clinic,
    myasthenia gravis clinic, multidisciplinary ALS clinic, peripheral
    nerve trauma clinic).
  • Specialized techniques (e.g single-fibre EMG, interpretation of
    MRI in myopathies, ultrasound for neuromuscular conditions,
    performing & interpreting muscle biopsies, etc).
  • Many research opportunities including clinical research trials,
    quality improvement projects, translational research, and
    observational studies.
  • Fellows are actively involved in the education of neurology
    residents both in-clinic and through didactic teaching sessions.
  • Potential fellows may be encouraged to apply for the NMD4C Annual Neuromuscular Postdoctoral Research and Clinical Fellowships Funding Competition if relevent, however separate funding also exists
