Sean Ng is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Christoph Handschin’s laboratory at the University of Basel, where his research focuses on exercise-induced neuromuscular plasticity. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Drs. Mark Tarnopolsky and Joshua Nederveen, investigating the repurposing of therapies for muscular dystrophies and mitochondrial diseases at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Sean completed his MSc and PhD at McMaster University under the supervision of Dr. Vladimir Ljubicic, where he studied the role of AMPK in neuromuscular health and disease. His recent findings have been published in several journals, including The Journal of Physiology and Molecular Metabolism. His work has been recognized by several national organizations, including NSERC, NMD4C, and MDC, which have collectively supported his scientific training.
