Defeat Duchenne Canada – Research Grant Announcement

Mark your calendar for Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. ET! Defeat Duchenne Canada will be hosting an online event celebrating the remarkable progress of the Duchenne community and the promise of what lies ahead.

As one of Canada’s leading funders of Duchenne muscular dystrophy research, DDC will spotlight its newest grant recipients, whose work is driving advances in treatment development, clinical care, and scientific discovery. The event will provide an opportunity to hear emerging findings, learn about innovative projects supported through the 2025–2026 funding cycle, and connect with the broader Duchenne community.

This year’s program features three newly funded research projects, each selected for its potential to advance therapies, improve care pathways, and enhance quality of life for individuals living with Duchenne. Presentations from funded investigators will be complemented by insights from families on the essential role of research, along with remarks from DDC Founder, John Davidson, reflecting on the organization’s long‑standing vision.

The evening will offer a moment to recognize the collective impact made possible by donors, families, and researchers across Canada and beyond, while looking ahead to the discoveries expected to shape the next decade of progress.
