Dr. Christine Yergeau is an experienced research manager specializing in rare diseases, human genetics, and clinical research, with a strong track record in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects, developing research infrastructures, and fostering collaborations across academic, clinical, and patient-community partners. She serves as the Manager of the RARE.Qc research network in Quebec, overseeing the strategic, operational, scientific, and ethical components of the network. Her role includes coordinating the activities of RARE.Qc’s research pillars, supporting collaborative initiatives across Québec, managing partnerships, and strengthening engagement between researchers, clinicians, and the rare disease community.

RARE.Qc is a research network funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Secteur santé, that brings together over 430 researchers, clinicians, students, and patient partners across Quebec, united by the mission to advance research on rare diseases in Quebec. Our objectives are to harness the expertise of all Quebec centers and developing a provincial network to foster peer-to-peer learning and the sharing of knowledge, resources and capabilities to strengthen healthcare systems for rare diseases, to foster scientific innovation and statistical clarity on the burden that rare diseases represent for the Quebec population. These objectives will be achieved through the creation of three research pillars focused on rare and undiagnosed diseases, (1) Databases and biobanking (2) Pathophysiology and therapy development and (3) Patient-centered clinical research.  Ultimately, this network will make Quebec a beacon of innovation in the field of rare diseases.
