Myogenesis Discussion Group | Architecture in Motion: Decoding the Mechanisms of Myoblast Fusion

Myogenesis Discussion Group: A seminar series on skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle research held on the last Monday of each month.

Speaker

Dr. Yue Lu | Assistant Professor, Department Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Iowa, Iowa City, U.S.

Details: Dr. Lu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He was jointly trained at China Agricultural University and Virginia Tech for his PhD, specializing in the genetic and metabolic regulation of skeletal muscle development. He then completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) to investigate the mechanisms of myoblast fusion during on skeletal muscle development and regeneration. Dr. Lu started his lab at UIowa in March 2026. His research program seeks to understand the actin cytoskeletal and metabolic regulation of the cell-cell fusion machinery.
In this seminar Dr. Lu will share his findings on the actin cytoskeletal regulation of myoblast fusion.
