Summary:

The University of Ottawa Neuromuscular Fellowship program emphasizes clinical bedside and clinical research experience studying neuromuscular disorders (NMDs). The primary NMD fellowship site is based at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, in Ottawa, Canada. The Ottawa Hospital strives to provide compassionate and evidenced-based care, with an emphasis on tertiary-level and specialty care for patients in Eastern Ontario. The NMD Fellow may also attend NMD clinics at the General Campus, as well as the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (neuromuscular or neurogenetics clinics). The TOH NMD Fellow will be exposed to outpatient, inpatient and emergency management of neuromuscular disorders. NMD teaching will take place through didactic sessions scheduled throughout the year, neuromuscular clinics, journal clubs, clinical and bench research, extensive electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction study (NCS) clinics, and inpatient/emergency consultations.
