2024 Neuromuscular Postdoctoral Research and Clinical Fellowships Funding Competition Now Open

Together with Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) and the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists we are excited to announce the opening of our 2024 annual funding competition to award postdoctoral fellowships in neuromuscular disease (NMD) research, and clinical fellowship awards in neuromuscular medicine and electromyography! 

This annual funding competition provides salary support for early-career scientists to conduct postdoctoral studies in a laboratory focused on research of NMDs, and early-career clinicians to participate in a neuromuscular medicine and electromyography fellowship training program. Successful applicants are eligible to receive $40 000 in funding over a one-year period for a postdoctoral fellowship, and $80 000 in funding over a one-year period for a clinical fellowship.

Dates and Timelines

Funding competition opens: Today, September 5th, 2023 

Application submission deadline: Tuesday October 17th, 2023.

2026 NMD4C Application & Nomination Deadlines

As we start the new year, three important NMD4C opportunities are approaching their deadlines. Members are invited to nominate a researcher or publication for the Annual NMD4C Awards, apply to join the Basic Science Trainee Committee (BSTC), and apply to attend the 2026 NMD4C Basic Research Summer School, taking place June 8–10 under the leadership of Dr. Mireille Khacho. Registration for the summer school is free, with travel and accommodations covered for non‑local trainees.
