NMD4C Neuromuscular Talent Pool Launches Today!

Today, 5th May 2026, NMD4C officially launches our Neuromuscular Talent Pool, a new online resource developed to showcase neuromuscular trainees and research professionals across Canada who are seeking their next position or role in basic neuromuscular research.

The Neuromuscular Talent Pool is a searchable database of MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, technicians, and other research professionals who are actively seeking their next role in neuromuscular research. It is designed to support career transitions at all stagessuch as progressing from an MSc to a PhD, from a PhD to a postdoctoral position, or moving between technical or research roles. By centralizing information on candidates’ experience and research interests, the platform increases the visibility of trainees and research professionals and helps laboratories, institutions, and research teams across Canada identify potential candidates more easily.

If you would like to be included in the Neuromuscular Talent Pool, you are invited to register by completing the short registration form below and uploading your CV along with a brief personal statement. The personal statement should outline your experience, your interest in neuromuscular research, and the type of position you are seeking next.

Canadian-Led Phase II Studies Advance Vamorolone Evidence in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

NMD4C investigators contributed to two phase II studies evaluating vamorolone in boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy across early childhood and adolescence, demonstrating safety, favorable pharmacokinetics, and potential efficacy. Led by Dr. Jean Mah and conducted across Canadian clinical trial sites with national and industry collaborators, the findings supported Health Canada approval of vamorolone as the first treatment for DMD in Canada. Leaders from both the clinical and patient advocacy communities, including Defeat Duchenne Canada, highlighted the impact of collaboration among patients, families, clinicians, and researchers in advancing care and improving access to new therapies.
