Juan Francisco Idiaquez Rios
Biography
Dr.Ā JuanĀ Francisco Idiaquez Rios received his medical degree from Universidad Andres Bello in ViƱa del Mar, Chile. In 2019, he completed his neurology training at Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago and became a staff member at Clinica Alemana, Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile.
In November 2020, Dr. Idiaquez joined the Neurology Department at the University of Toronto as a clinical and research Neuromuscular fellow under the direction of Professor Vera Bril. Throughout his career, Dr. Idiaquez has focused on understanding autonomic dysfunction in small-fibre neuropathy. He has investigated the diagnostic utility of the modified Toronto neuropathy score for a wide spectrum of polyneuropathy and is currently focused on identifying new diagnostic and treatment response markers for immune polyneuropathies.
In addition, Dr. Idiaquez has joined the Peripheral Nerve International Master program supported by the University of Milano and the Peripheral Nerve Society since 2023.
