Biography

Dr. Kristina Joyal is a pediatric neurologist from rural Manitoba. She did her B.Sc in Neuroscience at McGill University, medical school at the University of Manitoba, and pediatric neurology residency at the University of Ottawa / Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. She focused on neuromuscular neurology during residency and obtained her CSCN certification in NCS/EMG at that time. She now works in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she sees all the children with neuromuscular diseases in the province and is the neurologist for the pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic. Otherwise, she works as a community pediatric neurologist. She also has an interested in Indigenous health. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, reading, and going to metal shows.
