Applications are now open for the 2026 NMD4C Basic Research Summer School!!!
We are excited to announce that applications are now open for our third Basic Research Summer School for neuromuscular research trainees! Led by Dr. Mireille Khacho, the 2026 NMD4C Basic Research Summer School will be held from June 8th to 10th at the University of Ottawa.
The program offers lecture-based and hands-on training workshops to neuromuscular trainees in cutting-edge wet lab techniques, while providing an environment for trainees to present their research and network in-person with colleagues and investigators from across Canada.
Supporting pre-clinical trainees and scientists is a key focus of the network, and we are aiming to make this event as accessible as possible for trainees to attend from across Canada. Registration is free, and accommodations and travel will be provided for non-local participants.

Join Us at the 2026 NMD4C Annual Meeting on 25 September
The 2026 NMD4C Annual Meeting will take place in Calgary on Friday, September 25, 2026. The agenda will feature a brief network update, trainee and early-career recognitions, flash talks, a health economics research showcase, and a series of cross‑disciplinary and parallel clinical/pre‑clinical discussion sessions to explore key topics, including advocacy and therapy access, strategies to sustain and strengthen pre-clinical programs, and network sustainability and strategic planning.
