Could You Be Our Next Awardee? Meet Jules Granet, NMD4C’s 2026 Publication of the Year Awardee
In 2026, Jules Granet, a PhD Candidate at McGill University and trainee in Dr. Natasha Chang’s laboratory received an NMD4C Publication of the Year Award for research investigating how muscle stem cell dysfunction contributes to impaired muscle regeneration in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
His study identified distinct muscle stem cell populations, which includes a subgroup with stalled myogenic differentiation, highlighted how targeting autophagy could help improve regenerative capacity, and generated a valuable single-cell transcriptomic resource for the neuromuscular research community. Call for Nominations: 2027 NMD4C Awards
Nominations are welcomed across the clinical and biomedical research streams. Depending on the award category, eligible nominees include fellows, research trainees, and early-career neuromuscular researchers within five years of their first independent research appointment. Nominate yourself or a neuromuscular colleague whose research, clinical care, leadership, advocacy, or community contributions deserve to be recognized.
Award recipients receive national recognition that can strengthen their academic portfolios and support future funding, promotion, and career advancement opportunities.
