Now Open: 2027 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Funding Competition
We are happy to announce that applications for the 2027 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Funding Competition, in partnership with Muscular Dystrophy Canada, is now open. This annual funding competition awards salary support to early-career scientists interested in advancing their postdoctoral studies in neuromuscular disease (NMD) research.

- Competition Opens: September 2, 2026
- Application Deadline: October 14, 2026
- Notification of Funding: December 2026
- Funds Available: February – September 2027
($40,000 over a one-year period)

Together with Muscular Dystrophy Canada, we’re excited to share our 2027 Neuromuscular Clininacal Fellowship Funding Recipients; Dr. Larissa Maini (University of Calgary), Dr. Anna Branch (University of Ottawa) and Dr. Olumide Emmanuel Adegunna (University of Toronto)! This year’s competition provided one-year salary support ($80,000) for our early-career clinicians to participate in Canadian neuromuscular medicine and electromyography (EMG) fellowship training programs.
