2026 NMD4C Annual Meeting
The 2026 NMD4C Annual Meeting will be held at Hotel Arts in Calgary on Friday, September 25.
Join us for a full day of dynamic discussions, research updates, and networking opportunities—just ahead of the 6th Western Canadian Neuromuscular Conference (WCNMC 2026). The agenda will feature a brief network update, trainee and early‑career recognitions, flash talks, a health economics research showcase, and the following cross‑disciplinary and parallel clinical / pre‑clinical discussion sessions:

Advocacy and Assess: Coordinated National Strategy
- Establish 3–5 national advocacy priorities to guide coordinated efforts and advance progress on key policy, regulatory, and access challenges.
- Develop standardized clinician engagement pathways for CDA clinician group input submissions and expert review participation.
- Identify approaches to improve therapy access by addressing SAP, clinical trial, and policy barriers.
Network Sustainability & Strategic Planning
- Identify 3–5 key network priorities
- Develop a draft sustainability roadmap including funding diversification and strategic partnerships
Building on Success: Sustaining and Strengthening Pre-Clinical Initiatives
- Reflect on the successes, challenges, and impact of current pre-clinical initiatives.
- Explore opportunities to increase pre-clinical recognition, visibility, and engagement.
- Identify priority activities for continuation and develop strategies for long-term sustainability.
- Develop a roadmap of pre-clinical priorities for trainees, early-, mid- and senior-career investigators, gaps, and next steps to maintain momentum and guide future programming.

Special opportunity for Basic Science Research Trainees
This year, we are excited to share that the Western Canadian Neuromuscular Conference will host a full day of basic science sessions running in parallel with the clinical sessions on Saturday, September 26, followed by a networking event. All basic science trainees who attend the NMD4C Annual Meeting will receive complimentary registration for these sessions and the networking event at WCNMC 2026.
Please note: WCNMC 2026 runs from September 25 to 27, and the basic science sessions take place on the Saturday alongside the clinical program.
