Show Us the Science Behind Motion: NMD4C Launches 2026 Signals That Move Us Image Competition

NMD4C is excited to announce the launch of Signals That Move Us, the 2026 NMD4C Basic Science Trainee Committee (BSTC) Image Competition, an annual celebration of the beauty, complexity, and power of neuromuscular science. Submissions are now open until May 5, inviting trainees from across the network to showcase how their research captures the story of how signals become strength.

Organized by the NMD4C BSTC, the competition highlights everything from striking microscopy to innovative visualizations of nerves, muscles, and their connections, celebrating the science behind motion. The goal is to elevate trainee research, spark creativity, and spotlight the scientific artistry embedded in neuromuscular discovery.

This year’s competition offers cash prizes of $300, $200, and $100 for the top three images. All NMD4C trainees are eligible to participate, and submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges for their technical excellence, artistic and scientific merit, and clarity of communication. In addition to prizes, winning images will be featured across NMD4C platforms, offering valuable visibility within the national neuromuscular research community.

Review the full eligibility details, submission criteria, the competition timeline, and the submission form here.

Submissions are open now, let your images speak, inspire, and move us!
