Katelyn Eisner, M.Sc. has been a PhD student at York University in the Muscle Health Research Centre since the start of 2026. Under the direction of Dr. Christopher Perry, her work will focus on mitochondrial transplantation in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy using mouse and cell culture models. The work will investigate if mitochondrial transplantation can improve skeletal muscle outcomes, and characterize the uptake of mitochondrial transplants in a variety of resident skeletal muscle cell types.
She joined the NMD4C’s Basic Science Trainee Committee in 2026, contributing to social media and communications.
