Clinical Trial Network

Through the neuromuscular clinical trial network we are working to increase the number of trials conducted in Canada, enhance trial capacity, and support a cohesive network of clinician researchers and their teams.

Mission

To empower clinicians and their teams to lead neuromuscular clinical trials in Canada. Through preparation, strategic promotion, and provision of tools and resources, we aim to bring more clinical trials, enhance trial capacity, and increase the opportunity for patient participation. By fostering an environment of collaboration, we aim to support a cohesive network of clinician researchers. We strive to advance neuromuscular research and partner with all those in the Canadian neuromuscular disease community to improve the implementation and access to clinical trials.

Objectives

Canadian Neuromuscular Clinical Trial Database

The Canadian Neuromuscular Clinical Trial Database has been created as an initiative of the NMD4C Clinical Trial Network in collaboration with Canadian neuromuscular clinical trial site teams to provide a comprehensive and reliable landscape of Canadian neuromuscular clinical trials. Monthly updates are provided by clinical research coordinators working at Canadian trial sites, ensuring the most current information is always available.

Community of Practice for Clinical Trial Personnel

The clinical trial network of NMD4C is pleased to announce the launch of a Canadian-wide community of practice for clinical trial personnel, including clinical trial PIs, coordinators, nurses and others specialized in overseeing neuromuscular clinical research projects in Canada. The Community of Practice will offer education and training curricula and opportunities to share, exchange and learn about trial best practices, troubleshooting challenges and optimizing trial experiences.

If you want to learn more about this program, or refer colleagues who work with you on trials, please contact CTN manager Maria Masnata.
