NMD4C Welcomes Two New Staff Members to HQ!

The NMD4C recently welcomed two staff new members to the NMD4C HQ team! Lola Owoeye, MA.,  joins us as the new Communications and Administrative Coordinator, and Pamela Khacho, PhD joins as the new Pre-Clinical Science Coordinator. 


Lola Owoeye, MA | Communications and Administrative Coordinator

Lola Owoeye is our new Communications and Administrative Coordinator. She is an experienced communications professional with a background in the nonprofit, agency, and education sectors. Lola holds degrees in Digital Culture & Society (M.A.) and Mass Communication & Media Technology (B.Sc.).

At NMD4C, she coordinates network communications, including news updates, the monthly newsletter,the website and social media platforms (BlueskyFacebook and LinkedIn). She also manages memberships and liaises with the many people and sites involved in the network.

 

Pamela Khacho is our new Pre-Clinical Science Coordinator, a neuroscientist and research operations leader with a PhD and MSc in Neuroscience. Pamela has substantial experience in laboratory research, clinical trials, and regulatory affairs. She is also a Laboratory and Operations Manager at the University of Ottawa, where she supports research infrastructure and oversees lab operations.

At NMD4C, she supports the Animal and Cell-Based Research work package, including the annual summer school, the research database, the annual award competitions, and the basic science training committee.

2026 NMD4C Application & Nomination Deadlines

As we start the new year, three important NMD4C opportunities are approaching their deadlines. Members are invited to nominate a researcher or publication for the Annual NMD4C Awards, apply to join the Basic Science Trainee Committee (BSTC), and apply to attend the 2026 NMD4C Basic Research Summer School, taking place June 8–10 under the leadership of Dr. Mireille Khacho. Registration for the summer school is free, with travel and accommodations covered for non‑local trainees.
