The Neuromuscular Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Community of Practice (CoP) aims to connect physiotherapists and occupational therapists who see neuromuscular patients, creating opportunities to provide training, exchange resources and strategies, and find solutions to common challenges.

The CoP is open to all Canadian physiotherapists and occupational therapists who see neuromuscular patients.
Activities
Knowledge Exchange Sessions (bi-monthly)
Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists often work with clients with diverse needs and are eager to learn from experts and colleagues about effective strategies. Knowledge Exchange Session provides an opportunity to discuss challenges and successes, while connecting with peers across the country to strengthen the community and provide support.
Open Forums
Open Forum | Thursday December 5, 2025– 1pm ET
This virtual session covered:
- A round of introductions
- Presented the structure of the Community of Practice
- Gathered insights on priority topics for future educational sessions
- Reviewed and prioritize potential topics for upcoming sessions

Réseau Québécoise de l’Amyotrophie Spinale

In 2025 the Réseau Québécoise de l’Amyotrophie Spinale (RQAS) joined the NMD4C as a sub-group of the CoP. Since 2022 the RQAS has operated as a network uniting rehabilitation clinicians across Quebec to advance the care of people with Spinal muscular atrophy. Read more about how the RQAS works together with the NMD4C to unify, support, and advance neuromuscular care and research across Canada.
